I constructed this raku kiln to fit the proportions of my electric kiln, with a few centimetres to spare, and designed it with a view to portablility and versatility. It is 101 centimetres high and 76 by 76 centimetres deep and wide, and I have designed it so that I can adapt if for use as a 76 centimetres high, 101 by 76 centimetres wide and deep kiln. It cost me about £300 to make, including gas fittings. I followed the instructions on the Bath Potters Supplies website when making this kiln. It is essential to obtain full health and safety information before attempting to construct or use a raku kiln and I cannot provide this. You could start by looking at Bath Potters Supplies' site for health and safety information and please note that it is essential to wear a suitable mask and protective clothing when handling ceramic fibre.
